Music Videos & Special Projects

For more than six decades, Ralph Bakshi has been one of animation's most influential and groundbreaking filmmakers. Widely recognized as the pioneer of adult animation, his films challenged conventions, expanded the possibilities of the medium, and helped establish animation as a powerful form of storytelling for mature audiences.

Harlem Shuffle

(1986)

Bakshi directed the animated/live-action music video for The Rolling Stones, bringing his signature urban energy and cartoon sensibility to one of the band's most memorable videos.

This Ain't BeBop

(1989) Produced for PBS, this documentary-style special explored the history and cultural impact of jazz through a dynamic combination of music, animation, and visual storytelling.

Last Days of Coney Island

(2015) A deeply personal return to animation, revisiting the neighborhoods, characters, and atmosphere that shaped Bakshi's artistic voice. Released through crowdfunding, the film demonstrated the enduring passion of both the artist and his audience.
